Clinical Trials Network
Facilitating Sickle Cell Disease Research to Improve Clinical Outcomes
The ASH RC Sickle Cell Disease Clinical Trials Network (SCD Network) was launched with the mission of fostering collaborative partnerships to accelerate progress in research and improve outcomes for individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) by expediting the development of treatments and generating new evidence to support clinical decisions and care.
The SCD Network and its partners share a commitment to:
The SCD Clinical Trials Network consists of 20 research consortia. Each consortium in the Network is built on a “hub and spoke” model and consists of a Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) that serves as the lead clinical trial site, or hub, providing administrative infrastructure to support various Clinical Research Sites (CRS), or spokes, within each consortium.
Engagement with the community has been foundational to the development of the SCD Clinical Trials Network. The ASH RC provides support for SCD Community Advisory Boards at each consortium to ensure that Network efforts are informed by the needs and desires of those living with and caring for those with sickle cell disease at both local and national levels.
The following consortia and clinical network sites are part of the SCD Network:
